Volunteer Packaging began in 2004 as a small family-run operation in the heart of Milan, Tennessee. Our founders—longtime paper and corrugate industry professionals—shared one goal: to create packaging that could meet the demands of modern manufacturing without sacrificing environmental responsibility. What started with one press and a handful of dedicated employees quickly grew into a thriving local business built on hard work, trust, and a shared commitment to doing things the right way.

As demand for sustainable materials increased, Volunteer Packaging invested heavily in research and green technology. By 2012, the company had transitioned to water-based inks and fully recyclable corrugated fibers, marking a major milestone in eco-friendly manufacturing. Partnerships with local suppliers and universities allowed us to stay ahead of environmental standards while keeping production 100% domestic—something we remain proud of today.

We believe that sustainability starts at home. Over the years, we’ve supported local schools, sponsored Tennessee environmental cleanups, and provided internships to students interested in green manufacturing. Our facility itself was upgraded to run on renewable energy, and our waste management system recycles nearly 98% of all materials used in production.

Today, Volunteer Packaging serves clients across the U.S., offering everything from custom packaging design to biodegradable product packaging. We remain rooted in our original promise: to combine Southern craftsmanship with world-class innovation.
